I only needed about half of what I ordered to get the effect I wanted. I had less than a half-dozen, 1” pieces scattered on the grate before. Now I have a nice glow in our ventless fireplace-insert. I need to break up the bits a little more to make sure I have good airflow.

More than enough for my large fireplace. I have sand covering all the gas pipes to disperse the gas and look like natural fire burning (professional installation). After several years the whole thing was dusty. So I took a before picture of the setup. Then cleaned the logs, vacuumed the old wool (leaving the sand) put the new wool all over the sand and replaced the logs according to the picture I took. Looks great Like a natural fire burning with hot embers at the bottom.

I performed the first cleaning of Lennox fireplace insert that had been operating for almost 15 years. This was my final step after cleaning the burners. It looks like real embers! I am delighted.

It arrived on time. They provide gloves for handling the product which is very thoughtful. Product comes compact. Take time to pull smaller pieces of the embers and place the embers in small bunches around the fireplace gas nozzles. This looks good and was easy to set up!

If you have a gas fireplace in your home and do not have this in it, (which my new home didn't), you're missing out. Very easy to put in place, like breaking up cotton and placing it at base in and around ceramic logs. Visually makes a huge difference. An inexpensive must have plus more than enough to share with others, ( it doesn't go bad/wear out).

Very good quality rock wool for realistic look. Once opened, bag has enough material for multiple gas fireplaces. Thank you.

This product is enough to last my lifetime & the life of the fireplace & then some . After installing a fireplace blower which required the removal of all of the embers & lava stone to raise the underside to make room to slide the blower in . I needed new embers which of course happens to be this product . It almost has the make up of a denser yet very light weight Spanish moss . Just tear off quarter sized pieces & place them under & in front of the logs for that natural real log fire effect . As for the blower , I bought the best one with ball bearings which per other reviews claimed to waste $$$ on as far as getting extra heat is concerned . The blower adds to a lesser degree added warmth just not enough to warrant the $$$ .

It works exactly as it described. The color is beautiful and gives a very nice touch to the gas fireplace. It really looks like there is embers from a fire in the base of the fireplace. Would definitely recommend. Very inexpensive and works extremely nice in the fireplace.

I almost ordered 2 because I wasn't sure 12 oz. would be enough. I'm glad I didn't! It was more than enough. We have lots left over. The glowing embers make the fire look so real. Highly recommend.The photo doesn't do it justice. Sarah G

A friend told me about your product. It made a huge difference in how my fireplace looked. I love it. However I wish you would make a smaller packer. What I have will last two lifetimes.

I am a gas hearth professional. Own & operate a gas log repair service. I used to buy this product in 5lb bulk box. It has become unavailable. So i bought 4 different versions off Amazon. Gaspro, Meecos, Midwest & American gas log. Meecos was a standby for years but they have switched to the light rockwool. Gaspro was the same. I dont like it. My clients dont like it. Midwest & American are the same product. one has some vermiculite mixed in. This dark loose rockwool achieves the look & glow I am going for quite nicely. American gas log gave me the most product for the money spent. I bought 2 more right away. Now this is more product than you need if you are just trying to refresh the embers in your glass front gas fireplace & even most ventfree log sets. A homeowner looking to refresh a single fireplace would be fine with a 2-4 ounce bag. This 12 ounce bag is good for a vented log set & my needs as a service guy. TIP you want to make the embers small loose & fine. Cover the burner ports with a light & fluffy mix. Enough to make it glow well without choking the flame. Make sure to check that your log set can take glowing embers. Not all can especially some ventfree units. I will be buying more of this product in the future

Embers are must-have for a gas fireplace. I made the rookie mistake and emptied the entire bag between the artificial woods. It blocked the fire and it was blacking the places where the fire was escaping from. After coming to realization, I took out 70% of ember and used the 30% strategically to semi-block the fire and guided it so it is not concentrated in one place and rather spread out. I'm pleased with the end result. The fireplace looks 10x better than before. This produce is very strong and it gives the fire the natural look. I'd highly recommend this product.
