This works great. It has help to keep the heat off the mantle and away from the tv mounted above the mantle. It was extremely easy to install and took about 20 minutes to complete.

This is a nice fireplace hood which is also reasonably priced. Too bad it didn’t arrive with all the necessary parts for immediate installation, that is why I gave it a four star rating instead of five. I was going to return it so I could get a replacement with all parts, as Amazon always offer to its Prime members, but after carefully checking the item I noticed that I could install it without needing the missing support bracket. Nevertheless it is disappointing when you order something and it arrives damaged, or, like in this case, incomplete with missing parts. One thing I did find out; the title of the product says Americangaslogs as the brand. I called Americangaslogs trying to get the missing support bracket and they mentioned to me that they do not sell in Amazon, so they could not honor in this case a "warranty" request for a missing part. Maybe the seller just purchased a big lot of these and are selling those in Amazon, who knows. The part itself is very well made and I am happy with it.

Although the instructions were included but did not address my situation, it was easy enough to install. Took less than 30 minutes. Looks great and operates great. I'm very satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants and dress up their fireplace with a hood that deflects the smoke that causes soot build-up on the tiles atop their fireplace opening. The installed hood looks Great.
